Ballet
June 28th - July 1st: Colleen Benoit will offer ballet classes at our
studio this summer. Colleen has performed with Lake Charles Ballet
Society's Ballet Joyeaux for over 25 years. She has studied at the School
of the American Ballet for New York City Ballet, North Carolina School of
the Arts, Joffrey Ballet San Antonio Summer Workshop. Colleen has received
two scholarships to the Craft of Choreography Workshops and was awarded a
scholarship for summer study at the Pittsburgh Ballet and was accepted to
summer study at the American Ballet Theater. She has appeared in numerous
ballets including leads such as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker
and Swanilda in Coppelia. We are fortunate to have her share her
talents with us. Register early to guarantee your spot!

Jazz - Hip Hop:
June 28th - July 1st: Hollywood choreographer, Ginger Broussard, will offer
jazz and hip hop classes this summer at CKDA.
Ginger has danced for over 29 years, studying ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop,
lyrical and musical theatre. Before moving to Los Angeles, Ginger spent five
years as the owner and director of Company One Dance Studio in Baton Rouge,
La. In 1998 Ginger became the coach and choreographer for the Louisiana State
University Tiger Girls, where, in her first year, they won the Universal Dance
Association National Championship.
She has toured extensively throughout the country and taught master classes for over ten years. Her choreography has been performed from Honolulu, Hawaii to Cannes, France and her choreography continues to win national titles for several dance studios in the south. She has choreographed for and performed in Dancescape, a benefit helping music and art programs in Los Angeles, L.A. Dances, a Los Angeles based non-profit dance company, and co-conceptualized and choreographed for "SLAM", a benefit show featuring original choreography by industry favorites as well as up and coming new talent with all proceeds going to the Passion for Dance Project, a Los Angeles based non-profit organization that grants scholarships to dancers who are seeking dance as a professional career.
Ginger choreographed the music video for "Dance All Night" by Run Devil Run. Recently, she co-produced the VLounge Dance Challenge; a competition featuring L.A.'s best dancers.
Currently, Ginger is
co-choreographing a music video with world renowned choreographer Barry
YoungBlood and director Eugene Yang.

Fall Registration:
Returning students may register at any time beginning June 1st. OPEN
REGISTRATION for new students, begins July 6th and is held each
Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. We have had waiting lists every
year for the past 5 years so please register early!
Boys' Hip Hop
July 5th - 8th: Austin Clarke will offer a boys' hip hop class this summer!
Austin has studied extensively at Planet Funk in Houston, TX and recently
received a double platinum award at Showstopper's National Talent Competition
with a routine he helped choreograph and also performed.
5:30 - 6:30 PM Boys ages 8 to 12 $35
PreK/Kinder Jazz/Ballet/Acro Combo
July 12th - 15th: Brittni Conrad who just graduated from McNeese with a
Bachelor's degree in Elementary education will teach the prek/kinder class
this summer. Brittni was a member of our dance teams and served as co-captain
of the SHHS Broncettes her senior year in high school. She has taught at CKDA
for the past 5 years.
5:30 - 6:15 PM Ages 3 to 5 year olds. $25
Dance Team Prep Class: August
2nd - 5th This class will be taught by Ms Cathy. Dance team is for the
serious dancer only (minimum age 8 years by date of audition). Please do not
allow your child to audition unless she seems to truly love and enjoy ALL of
her dance classes. Dance team is a huge commitment from the parent and the
student. Please call the studio or visit our website for additional
information on our dance teams and the requirements.

Jazz
August 14th - 15th: We are fortunate this year to have the fabulous Keith
Clifton returning to our studio to offer master classes in jazz and jazz
technique. Keith has appeared in numerous national commercials and appeared
on stage in musicals including 42nd Street, My Fair Lady, A Chorus Line
and Anything Goes for which Keith won the Dramalogue's Critics Choice
Award for Best Choreography. Keith has traveled as a guest artist to perform
with regional ballet companies in lead roles such as The Nutcracker,
Coppelia, Swan Lake and Firebird. He has staged and directed
the entire Nutcracker ballet for the Irving Ballet of Dallas. Keith
was commissioned in 1993 to restructure the entire jazz and tap syllabus for
the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance. Keith is a co-founder of the
Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood and LA Danceforce Conventions.
