Summer Jazz/Hip Hop Workshop

June 29th – July 2nd:  Hollywood Choreographer, Ginger Broussard, will once again return to our studio to teach hip-hop and jazz classes.  These classes will be open to other studios, so please register early to ensure your spot!  Ginger was the coach for and took the LSU Tiger Girls to 2 national championships in early 2000 and has since been teaching at a studio in Los Angeles California.  Ginger provides all the choreography for the SHHS Broncettes. 

5:00 – 6:00 PM     Intermediate Jazz/Hip Hop

                            (8 – 12 year olds, minimum 2 years jazz or hip hop experience) $45

6:00 – 7:30 PM          Advanced Jazz / Technique / Hip Hop

                            (13 and up, minimum 4 years jazz or hip hop experience)  $60

These classes will be held Monday through Thursday.

 

 

PreK/Kinder PreJazz/Ballet/Acro

July 13th – 17th:  5:30 – 6:30 PM  For 3 to 5 year olds.  This class focuses on fun and introducing the young child to dance class.  Ballet, jazz and acro geared for the young dancer.  All you need is a good attitude and a leotard!  $35

July 20th – 23rd:  Intermediate Students (9 to 12 year olds – min 3 years exp)  5:00 – 5:45 PM    $40

                         Advanced Students*(13 and up, min 5 years ballet exp)         5:45 – 7:00 PM    $55

            *Adv Session will include some pointe work.  Students must wear black leotard and pink tights. 

 

 

Dance Team Prep & Dance Team Auditions:

July 27th  – 30th  Prep Class

5:30 – 7:00 PM  (8 to 12 year old first timers)   $50 (does not include audition fee)

7:00 – 8:15 PM  (13 and over refresher course) $45 (does not include audition fee)

August 1st:  Auditions 9:00 AM  $10 (all ages)

Dance team is for the serious dancer (minimum age 8 years by date of audition) who wishes to improve her skills and compete at the same time.  Dance team requires a financial commitment as well as a time commitment.  Dance team students must attend all classes regularly (including weekly team, technique, jazz and ballet classes) and must attend all performances and competitions.  Dance team members must attend conventions and all classes and auditions, etc at these conventions.  Please do not allow your child to try out for dance team if she does not seem to truly love and enjoy ALL of her dance classes.  The prep class will review and introduce skills necessary to be selected to team, however prep class IS NOT mandatory to audition for team.  WE WILL BEGIN REHEARSING AUG 10th.
