Dance Team Prep Class:  This class is geared for those serious students who wish to step up to competitive dancing.  If your child wishes to audition for our dance teams, this class is very helpful in preparing them.  We will have two opportunities to audition.  This is strictly to give you an option on dates.

 Dance Team requires a serious commitment (financial and time) from parents and students.  We rehearse several days a week, and sometimes, on weekends.  We travel three or four times a year to competitions that require overnight stays in a hotel.  Additional costumes and shoes are required for dance team numbers. 

 In order to be selected to our dance teams you must be able to sit flat in at least one split.  You must be able to perform a pirouette to the right and left and demonstrate ability to pick up steps quickly as well as understand counts in the music by performing a routine for the judges.  All dancers must audition to qualify for our dance teams and must enroll in jazz, ballet, team and technique classes. 

 We will rehearse during the month of August and learn our routines at that time.  Dancers’ attendance is of the utmost importance.  Dancers missing excessively will not be allowed to compete with the group.  No exceptions.

 Please do not allow your child to audition for dance team if she is not very serious about her desire to dance competitively.  Explain to your child that yes, it is a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work; hard work.

Dance team prep class will be held July 10-13 from 5:30– 7:30PM.  The cost will be $45.  This does not include the $10 audition fee.  Dance team prep class is not mandatory, but is usually quite helpful to the dancer.

Auditions will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the studio.
