This note contains very important information concerning our 2008 recital and ads for our program. Please read all information carefully so that you don’t miss out on any upcoming deadlines. Remember that a $35 recital fee (plus $5 for each additional child) is due with April’s tuition by April 10th. Costumes will be coming in soon. Costumes are fitted during your child’s class but must be picked up from Miss Angie during office hours (Mon. Tu. & Thur from 4:00 – 7:00 PM). No costumes will be given to any child with an outstanding balance. Please make sure all accounts are current to avoid embarrassing or disappointing your child.
There is a blue form on the counter that must be filled out in order for your child to receive a perfect attendance trophy (no absences) or a medal (five years or more dance training). If you aren’t sure if your child has perfect attendance, please ask the teacher. *If your child did not achieve perfect attendance, you may purchase a “job well done” trophy for $10.
There is a pink form on the counter that must be filled out in order for your child’s picture to appear in the picture page* part of our recital program. Form must include payment of $15. *To appear in the picture page section of the program you must use the picture taken by our photographer. Picture pages are not “ads” and do not count toward total ad sales for contest.
There is a white form on the counter for ad sales for our program. This form must be filled out completely and accurately and turned in on time. Forms turned in late may not make it into the program and will not be counted in total ad sales for contest. You may use ANY picture you wish for ads (1/4 page or more). See form for additional information concerning pictures on ads. **Dancer selling the most ads (total dollar amount sold) will receive free costumes for next year’s recital!
There is a green form on the counter for recital t-shirts. Recital t-shirts are pre-sale only. You must fill out the form with your child’s name, size wanted, and attach payment for the order to be placed. Orders placed without payment will not be processed. The t-shirts are great keepsakes and can be worn for finale.
As soon as we have picture dates there will be a “sign-up sheet” on the counter. Remember that these are the only pictures that can be used for the “picture page” segment of the program. You may use any picture for ads (1/4 page or bigger), but only our photographer’s for the “picture page” segment.
Dancers’ Picture Pages – Due By May 1stIf you wish to have your child’s picture in the “Picture Page” section of the recital program, fill our this form and attach your $15 payment. Give to Ms. Angie or drop in the lock box in an envelope marked “Picture Page”. You must write a separate check for Picture Page payment. Please print child’s name clearly. Signature Ad: $10 (send a special message to your special dancer - up to 2 lines) Business Card: $35 (business card size ad for business or personal) 1/4 Page Ad: $50 (Can include ONE picture only – business or personal)** 1/2 Page Ad: $75 (Can include ONE picture – Add $15 for an additional picture)** Full Page Ad: $125 (Can include ONE picture– Add $15 for each additional picture)** ** ¼ , ½ and Full Page Ads receive 15% discount if turned in on CD ready for print!! Your child may be left out of the program if you fail to read all info and deadlines. Reserved seating for recital: Once again this year we are selling reserved seating for the first four sections of the theatre. All other seats will be free. The cost for reserved seating is $5.00 per seat presale and $7.00 at the door. These seats will go on sale on May 15th. We will still have a reserved section for “quick change” parents. These seats will be ticketed and given only to parents who have “quick change” issues. We began the reserved seating for many reasons. Misuse of the “quick change” area had become a big problem. In addition, many people were “saving” 20 and 25 seats at a time in the front areas of the theatre. We found that it worked much better last year and hope that it will again benefit everyone and alleviate many of the past problems.
Video Taping of Recital: Video taping of the actual recital is strictly prohibited. You are welcome and encouraged to videotape your child during dress rehearsals but NO VIDEO TAPING is allowed during the actual show. Please be respectful of the rules. Violators will be asked to leave the theatre. You may purchase a DVD of the actual show for $35 if you wish. A sign up sheet will be on the counter beginning May 15th – Payment must accompany order or it will not be placed. Attendance: As recital nears please do your best to have your child at all classes. It is of the utmost importance for the entire number that all dancers are at all classes. Any dancer missing excessively may be required to take private lessons in order to participate in the show. It is unfair to the students who come every week to have someone in the number who doesn’t know the dance. DRESS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY! No exceptions. |
